Review: Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil

Hey Ya’ll! We have been using Shea Moisture’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil line, these products are geared towards natural, chemically processed, color treated and heat styled hair. We decided to try the shampoo, leave-in and the treatment masque.

JBCO Leave- In Conditioner:  The leave- in conditioner is amazing. It is light weight and it distributes throughout the hair evenly. We use it to detangle before our twist or braids. Our fingers/combs just glade right through with ease.

JBCO Shampoo: This shampoo has apple cider vinegar in it which we like because ACV is a mainstay in our hair routine. This shampoo is clarifying but it left our hair soft. All of the dirt, debris and product was gone and our hair and scalp looked and felt clean.

JBCO Treatment Masque: We love this! The consistency is thick and it coats the hair so well and a  little goes a long way.  Our hair tends to get dry and this helps combat that for us.

We honestly can’t say enough about these products… Shea Moisture did it again! Check out www.sheamoisture.com for more info! Have you tried JBCO from Shea Moisture? Let us know!

Shea Moisture Black African Soap

Hey Ya’ll!! We are back with yet another Shea Moisture product review: Black African Soap. We have been using this line for a couple of months and we love it of course!!! The Black African Soap Skincare Line is geared towards people with blemish and troubled skin (acne).  The Black African Soap line has three main ingredients; Black African Soap, Tamarind Extract, and Tea Tree Oil. We use the Black African Soap Bar, Problem Skin Toner, and Clarifying Mud Mask.   Here are the deets!

The Main Ingredients

Black African Soap :  natural remedy for troubled skin

Tamarind Extract :  naturally exfoliates and brightens skin

Tea Tree Oil:  has antiseptic  properties

Shea Moisture describes the Black African Soap as a line that keeps problem skin hydrated, balances oily and blemish complexions, leaves skin smooth, shine free and is great under makeup.

Black African Soap Bar: this lathers up nicely but not too much. We noticed that our skin isn’t dried out after washing our face. The smell is decent and not strong at all.

Problem Skin Toner: love this stuff!!! It is not drying at all and for us, it keeps the oiliness at bay during these hot summer days.

Clarifying Mud Mask: This mask is amazing for any breakouts that may occur but the scent is a little strong at first but we have gotten used to it.

Moisturized skin

Skin feels really smooth

Black spots from acne are fading

Problem skin  Toner needs to be a little bit bigger..lol

Lesley and I have used everything out there for our skin since our high school days. It worked but our skin was dry or it wouldn’t work at all. Using these products gives our skin the balance, moisture and keeps the breakouts to a minimum.

You can find more information on these skincare products here.

Have you tried any of Shea Moisture’s skincare line? If so which one?
