SheaMoisture||Weightless Serum Foundation Review

COPENHAGEN

Hey Ya’ll! We are back again with another review. We have been wanting to try SheaMoisture foundation and it’s pretty awesome!

2017-04-26 05.25.05 2

Texture

This foundation has the texture of a serum. It’s super light weight and thin.

Coverage

A little goes along way with this foundation. If you apply too much at one time it will look cakey. It’s buildable and if you need more you can add more. We use a makeup sponge to apply this and it works well.

Shades

SheaMoisture has a variety of shades in this foundation. So whatever shade you are, there is a foundation for you.

Packaging

It. Has. A. Pump. This is so helpful because you are less likely to spill this all over the place. Especially if you are in a rush.

Price

The price is 14.99.

The only negative thing is that it can make you little oily so you have to set it.

Review: Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil

Leonardo da vinci

Hey Ya’ll! We have been using Shea Moisture’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil line, these products are geared towards natural, chemically processed, color treated and heat styled hair. We decided to try the shampoo, leave-in and the treatment masque.

pixlr_20161016144253696

JBCO Leave- In Conditioner:  The leave- in conditioner is amazing. It is light weight and it distributes throughout the hair evenly. We use it to detangle before our twist or braids. Our fingers/combs just glade right through with ease.

JBCO Shampoo: This shampoo has apple cider vinegar in it which we like because ACV is a mainstay in our hair routine. This shampoo is clarifying but it left our hair soft. All of the dirt, debris and product was gone and our hair and scalp looked and felt clean.

pixlr_20161016144127146

JBCO Treatment Masque: We love this! The consistency is thick and it coats the hair so well and a  little goes a long way.  Our hair tends to get dry and this helps combat that for us.

We honestly can’t say enough about these products… Shea Moisture did it again! Check out www.sheamoisture.com for more info! Have you tried JBCO from Shea Moisture? Let us know!

Shea Moisture Black African Soap

happy birthday to you

Hey Ya’ll!! We are back with yet another Shea Moisture product review: Black African Soap. We have been using this line for a couple of months and we love it of course!!! The Black African Soap Skincare Line is geared towards people with blemish and troubled skin (acne).  The Black African Soap line has three main ingredients; Black African Soap, Tamarind Extract, and Tea Tree Oil. We use the Black African Soap Bar, Problem Skin Toner, and Clarifying Mud Mask.   Here are the deets!

The Main Ingredients

Black African Soap :  natural remedy for troubled skin

Tamarind Extract :  naturally exfoliates and brightens skin

Tea Tree Oil:  has antiseptic  properties

Shea Moisture describes the Black African Soap as a line that keeps problem skin hydrated, balances oily and blemish complexions, leaves skin smooth, shine free and is great under makeup.

Black African Soap Bar: this lathers up nicely but not too much. We noticed that our skin isn’t dried out after washing our face. The smell is decent and not strong at all.

Problem Skin Toner: love this stuff!!! It is not drying at all and for us, it keeps the oiliness at bay during these hot summer days.

Clarifying Mud Mask: This mask is amazing for any breakouts that may occur but the scent is a little strong at first but we have gotten used to it.

Pros

Moisturized skin

Skin feels really smooth

Black spots from acne are fading

Cons

Problem skin  Toner needs to be a little bit bigger..lol

Lesley and I have used everything out there for our skin since our high school days. It worked but our skin was dry or it wouldn’t work at all. Using these products gives our skin the balance, moisture and keeps the breakouts to a minimum.

You can find more information on these skincare products here.

Have you tried any of Shea Moisture’s skincare line? If so which one?

Much Love,

Summer Favorites

a little bit swirly

Hey Ya’ll! Summer is coming to a close and it was a real hot one. So of course we had to share the products that keep our hair fly and summer ready.

Lesley’s Favorites

Fave 5

SheaMoisture 10 in 1 Renewal System Hair and Scalp Serum

I really like this product because it keeps my hair and scalp moisturized days after I have washed my hair and the applied the serum. After it dries it keeps my hair shiny, frizz free and healthy.

Fave 3

Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner

OMG!!! This product has helped me so much with detangling my hair. I apply this deep conditioner on my  hair when it is semi wet and I let it sit for about an hour. Then I shampoo, condition and detangle my hair and it is so easy for my tangle teezer to glide right through my hair. This product helps to cut my detangling time in half!

Fave 4

SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In Conditioner

First off this conditioner smells good. It has a thick creamy consistency and it goes on so smooth and it coats the hair. My hair is super moisturized many days after applying this leave in.

Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Edge Control Smoother

First off how cute is the little stand in the pic.. lol!!  Anyway…. I have tried so many different edge control products and non really worked. They didn’t lay my edges down or it created flakes around my edges. This edge control goes on dry and it works well with my other products. My curls can be unruly and wild but this product helps tame them. Especially if I’m wearing an updo.

Fave 2

SheaMoisture Coconut and Hibiscus Kids Extra Moisturizing Detangler

As the young people say ” This is BAE”!!! All I have to say is yes I’m far from a kid but this detangler gets the job done. I use it on dry hair and I finger detangle.  Of course it smells awesome!!!

Fave 7

SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Masque

I had to go to Instagram and express my love for this treatment masque. I’ve heard such great things about this particular product from this line and it was on sale at Target so I got it!!! I have colored treated hair and  high porosity and deep conditioning is a must so this product keeps my hair all the way right!!!

This Texas summer heat took a toll on our  delicate curls but thankfully we had amazing products that kept our hair moisturized, detangled and frizz-free.  Tell us, what are your summer favorites?!

Much Love,

Winter Favorites

Hey Ya’ll!! Happy New Year!!!  It’s starting to feel like winter here in Texas and we are kind of glad… but that leads us to using  products that will help keep the moisture in and the dryness out. Every year round this time  we find  ourselves having to stock up on our favorite winter products.

fav 1 revised

Tree Hut DD Cream Here ♦ Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner Here ♦ Blue Magic Conditioner Hair Dress (local beauty supply store)♦ Rose Salve Here

I want to start off with the Tree Hut DD Cream .My sister and I love this product but I love it a little bit more. My skin feels moisturized longer with this product and with the SPF 20 I get added protection from the sun. Check out our review here. The Shea Moisture Restorative Conditioner is one of my go –to conditioners for the winter. The shea butter in the conditioner helps to deeply moisturize  my hair and scalp. Which brings me to the Blue Magic Hair Dress a.k.a GREASE! This helps with my dry scalp and some my not agree but it helps and my scalp thanks me! The Rose Salve stays in my makeup bag. I used it for my elbows, cuticles, lips and face. It’s really small and convenient for traveling.

Grape Seed Oil Here ♦ Curl & Style Milk Here ♦ Hold & Shine Mist Here ♦ Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap Here

All of these products I’ve used for a while but the grape seed oil is fairly new to the team. It’s nice and light on my hair and it keeps the moisture  in  without making my hair heavy.  Shea Moisture’s Curl & Style Milk and the Hold & Shine Mist are what I call the dynamic duo. They work well together for my hair when it is really dry. After I apply these two I seal with the grape seed oil. Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap in Lavender deep cleanses and moisturizes my face all at the same time. It contains certified organic oils such as coconut, hemp and jojoba.

It doesn’t get too cold here but when it does, these products help maintain moisture in our hair and on our skin. It’s important to take time out from our busy schedules to take care of ourselves. Stay warm and moisturized out there!!!

Much Love,

CurlsCurvesChic
