Hey Ya’ll! Everyone knows what shampoo and conditioner is right? There are so many shampoos and conditioners out there to meet your specific hair needs….Finding out which one ca be tricky.
Shampoo is a form of soap made to cleanse your scalp of all products and debris. Depending on your hair and the state that it is in (dry, dyed, etc.) there is a shampoo that can be used. Not all shampoos are created equal. Here are a few…
Clarifying Shampoo- helps to remove everything from the hair and scalp.
Sulfate Free Shampoo- does nor contain the detergent foaming agent Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. While it still cleanses it does not lather as much.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is found in soaps, toothpaste, etc. It has leaning and emulsifying properties and acts like soap. It has the ability to strip the hair of nutrients, but it is and irritant for those who have sensitive skin. Those who can benefit from sodium lauryl sulfate shampoo are those who suffer from dandruff and excessive sebum (oily scalp).
Moisturizing Shampoo- maintains moisture as it cleanses
Color-Safe Shampoo- cleanses while maintaining the color. Also it keeps the color from fading.
Conditioners are designed to replenish the hair with moisture and also provide treatment for the hair.
Deep Conditioning- use when moisture and protein is needed for the hair. It has a base of a heavy cream moisturizer.
Leave-In Conditioner- thinner in consistency and leaves a light layer on the hair
~Quick Tip~ For best results for your hair, use the shampoo and conditioner from the same brand. They are formulated to work together.
Hey Ya’ll it’s Lesley!! So for the past month I have been using Trader Joe’s hair products because I wanted to try something different, and it has paid off. I have been using the Tea Tree Tingle and the Nourish Spa Balanced Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
So let me tell you a few things about them…
Nourishing Spa Balanced Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner
Both are enriched with Organic Botanicals ( its infused with plant material that helps with healthy hair production)
Balanced shampoo to clean and protect
Helps with re-moisturizing dry, brittle hair ( conditioner)
Adds moisture and the hair is more manageable
Cruelty Free (No Animal Testing Contains no harmful sulfates)
Once I used this product my hair felt soft, my curls were defined, I hardly had any frizz, and it cut my detangling time in half. The conditioner does have a silicone in it, but that’s a good thing for me because I have high porosity and it helps retain the moisture in my hair.
Tea Tree Tingle
Contains Tea Tree Peppermint and Eucalyptus Botanicals
Suitable for all hair types
Contains no harmful Sulfates
Cleanses without stripping the hair too much
This product surprised me the most because I was using peppermint soap to clarify my hair and afterwards I would have to put so much moisture back in. It felt brittle when I was done, but after using the Tea Tree Tingle, it was soft and I still had life in my curls even though I clarified my hair.
These products have changed the way my hair has felt and the way my final styles look and it has been amazing. The price point for both of these products are affordable. You can purchase these items at you local Trade Joe’s or on Amazon in sets for under 20 dollars.
Hey Y’all! Erica here and I wanted to give my first impression on Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and Conditioner. This is my second time trying Trader Joe’s hair products and I’ve had my eye on this for a while.
First off I love the packaging. I think that it’s cute but simple. I had high expectations for this product because of my experience in the past; and it didn’t disappoint.
I love the consistency of the shampoo; it has a gel like consistency. For this to be a sulfate free shampoo the lather is on 10. But my hair didn’t feel hard or unmanageable. The conditioner is so lovely. It’s super creamy and my hair was so soft.
The smell is very light and not over powering. The “tingle” is very refreshing. It does not burn which is nice.
This duo is definitely will be apart of my clarifying regime. I will be repurchasing plus the price was pretty good.
Have you tried any of Trader Joe’s Shampoos and Conditioner? Which ones?
